Kevin Hollinrake MP is seeking an answer about the re- opening of the Lambert Memorial Community Hospital.

It was announced that patients are being moved from the ward and relocated until a review about the services offered at the site takes place. The Lambert is used primarily for palliative care and also rehabilitation.  A shortage in nursing staff has been one of the problems highlighted by the South Tees Hospital Trust.

Kevin Hollinrake has spoken to North Yorkshire County Councillors and other concerned local residents about the hospital and its role in the community.

“I am most concerned about the temporary closure of the Lambert Hospital in Thirsk, and the effect it will have on patients and families. I have already written to the Department of Health, the Chief Clinical Officer at the Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby Clinical Commission Group and the South Tees Trust on this matter. I have requested a clear time scale for re-opening and will continue to press for confirmation of this date. “
