I was delighted to be at the opening of Pickering’s newest business, 2 Burgate, on Small Business Saturday. 2 Burgate is a new café bar concept for Pickering, formerly known as Café Frog, and has been extensively renovated by owner Janet Hunter.
Small Business Saturday is backed by the Federation of Small Business. Ms Hunter said “The Federation of Small Business has supported me throughout my business planning and start up and I am delighted to welcome Carolyn Frank (pictured) as my first official customer. I also appreciate the support from our local MP too, who is such a champion of small businesses in the area. Opening on Small Business Saturday was a great way to highlight how important small businesses are to Pickering".
I would like to congratulate Janet and her excellent team at 2 Burgate. It’s great to see new businesses setting up in our market towns. It’s exactly these kinds of businesses that keep our market towns alive and thriving all year round. I am a huge supporter of small business which boost the local economy and bring communities together. I wish them all well for 2019.
