It was good to see the Exporting is Great roadshow in Malton today offering advice to businesses thinking of exporting abroad. Leaving the EU will open up many new trade opportunities across the world and I would encourage people to grab these opportunities now. There has never been a better moment to do so. The Department for International Trade has established a series of working groups and high-level dialogues with key trading partners, to explore the best ways to progress our trade and investment relationships with countries outside of the European Union (EU) and it is their job to make sure that businesses – big and small – get all the help they need. Of course, trade with Europe will not cease after we leave the EU. Through future trade agreements, the Government will seek the broadest possible access to the single market, so that we can continue to trade with our European friends.
