I was delighted to attend a jointly sponsored NFU Sugar and British Sugar Parliamentary reception today on the ‘Homegrown Sugar Success Story’. In addition to providing an opportunity to discuss the UK beet sugar industry with British Sugar Managing Director Paul Kenward (pictured), the reception also gave me an opportunity to meet the participants of this year’s Sugar Industry Programme – a scheme designed to engage and develop growers through a programme of training and development.
