Former Lambert Hospital should be kept for the local community.

Lambert Memorial Hospital

I am working with Hambleton District Council, campaign groups and local GPs to make sure that the Lambert Hospital site is saved for community use, including health and social care, in perpetuity. I very much want to see it remain in use for local people and I have expressed my concerns to the local CCG and NHS Property Services about its current plan to market the site to establish its value. This will very much increase the likelihood that the site may be sold to a private developer for flats and therefore it would be lost to the community. The neighbouring GP services are stretched and it would be far better if it were kept for future health care purposes. It’s in a prime spot close to an existing medical centre and pharmacy as well as the town centre. I understand that the Friends of Lambert have made an approach and so I plan to try and get everyone to work together to find a workable solution that will also suit their needs.
