Supporting the Dementia Community Roadshow Bus

Dementia Roadshow

I paid a visit to the Dementia Roadshow Bus today in Easingwold to find out more about its services. The bus is run by the Alzheimer’s society and is aimed at raising awareness of its services and to give support to people who are, or who know a loved one, living with dementia post diagnosis. For so many people the GP is the first person they go to if they (or someone close to them) is worried about their memory and they remain so as the dementia progresses. The Alzheimer’s society wants to work closely with GPs to support people affected by Dementia. For many people having someone to talk to is a lifeline during a very stressful and difficult period of their lives so I was really pleased that the bus stopped in Easingwold to allow people to find out more about how they can benefit from their services.
