Kevin Hollinrake has briefed the Secretary of State for Transport, Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, about the planned improvements on the A64 at the Hopgrove roundabout. Mr Grayling said he fully understood the concerns about the adequacy of the current proposals for a flyover at the roundabout and why a dual carriageway to Malton is essential if a new pinch point is to be avoided. The Secretary of State has since spoken to Highways England about the matter and a further meeting between Mr. Hollinrake, the A64 Growth partnership, which is made up of businesses agencies and local councillors and Highways England is being arranged as soon as possible. Mr. Hollinrake said he was delighted that he had been able to enlist Mr. Grayling’s support but that he would continue to keep up the pressure
