Alanbrooke Barracks

The Defence Secretary, the RT Hon Michael Fallon MP, has today announced that units from Prince William of Gloucester Barracks, Grantham will be relocated to Alanbrooke Barracks in Topcliffe. This will therefore increase the number of personnel at Alanbrooke.

Kevin Hollinrake MP has welcomed the announcement. ‘This is excellent news for the area and I am delighted for our superb body of service personnel at Alanbrooke Barracks. The base and its regiment have such a proud history and it was a great privilege to visit earlier this year. I look forward to welcome the new units from Prince William of Gloucester Barracks in 2020 and will do everything I can to make the transition as smooth as possible.’

Mr Fallon told the Commons that these changes would be part of A Better Defence Estate. This new strategy is looking at taking a comprehensive long-term and strategic approach to delivering UK military capability affordably and as efficiently as possible. The process of detailed planning and necessary engagement with the staff and local authorities impacted by this work will start immediately.
