It was fantastic to take part in a virtual workshop with young people from NY Voice and take some challenging and insightful questions. The attendees hail from various parts of North Yorkshire and are all members of their local Youth Councils and Youth Cabinet groups. I really enjoy hearing from young, politically engaged people who will no doubt be the next generation of future leaders in local and national government.
Many of the attendees are hoping to go on to become candidates for the upcoming Member of Youth Parliament elections and if any young constituents in Thirsk and Malton are interested in being part of this, I'd encourage them to contact Chloe Thwaites: [email protected]
I'm looking forward to engaging further with young people from the constituency during the upcoming UK Parliament Week and would encourage local groups, individuals and schools to sign up in they haven't already.
