I  am very disappointed that Easingwold Post Office has closed because of the coronavirus. I am pressing the Post Office to find alternative arrangements for the many people who rely on it for essential transactions such as pensions or accessing the PayZone to top up prepaid utility meters. In response the Post Office has advised me that, whilst resources are stretched, they are looking for temporary options. They said that they are working with DWP and the high street banks to make it easier for customers or a trusted helper to get access to cash at the Post Office and hope to able to provide further details soon.

In the meantime the two nearest post offices are in Raskelf and Stillington.

Raskelf Post Office -The Old Black Bull, Raskelf, York, YO61 3LF. Opening hours: Tuesday 8:30am to 1.30pm,  Wednesday 10:30am to 1:30pm, Thursday 10:30am to 1:30pm.

Stillington Post Office - Main Street, Stillington, York, YO61 1JS.  Opening hours: Monday to Friday 09.00am to 1.30pm and 2.30pm to 5.30pm also Saturday 09.00am to 12.30 pm

Gas Meters

For those wishing to top up their gas meters please contact your energy supplier as they are putting in place alternative ways to pay which may mean you do not have to visit a PayZone.

 Transport

If anyone has an urgent need to access the Post Office services in person and is unable to use private or public transport please let my office know and we will help with alternative transport. You should email [email protected]
