Library

Last week I opened the refurbished Easingwold children’s library, thanks to the funding from the Co-Op and help from volunteers.

I have been a strong campaigner for fairer funding for local authorities, ensuring they have more money to invest in rural services and I was very pleased to cut the ribbon at the refurbished library. I thank all those who played a role in securing these improvements for our community.

I hope this improved library will give more children in Easingwold and the sounding villages a chance to develop a love for reading. My thanks go to the team at the Co-Op in Easingwold, the volunteers and the management committee who made this possible. The visit follows the Autumn Budget in which the Chancellor announced record funding for education and more support for the critical first 1001 days of a child’s life.
