I am deeply honoured to have been re-elected by fellow MPs to the Communities and Local Government Committee. This is a Committee which covers a whole range of issues which are very close to my heart, such as housing, local government policy and finance, the Northern Powerhouse, welfare, town centres and markets and many other areas important to my constituents. In the last Parliament, I was actively involved in inquiries into a number of key areas including Adult Social Care, Business Rates, Housebuilding Capacity, Supported Housing and Homelessness, leading to the successful introduction of the Homelessness Reduction Act, sponsored by my colleague Bob Blackman MP. I look forward to tackling some challenging issues over the next 12 months.
