I am thrilled that Newcastle Building Society has now confirmed that their Pickering branch is now open. I met with Newcastle Building Society earlier this year who currently have a financial advice centre in the town and the arrival of the new full-service branch will mean access to financial services, cash and deposits for my constituents in Pickering. I'll continue my campaign for more banking hubs across Thirsk and Malton to ensure towns like Pickering are not left without vital services.
Newcastle Building Society opened the doors to its new branch in Pickering on September 30th. Pickering is the 32nd branch in the network and marks the latest phase in a multi-year, multi-million-pound investment into high streets and communities in this region.
NBS expanded their existing financial advice offering in Pickering, to create a brand new full-service branch on Market Place. The new branch is also home to a OneBanx multi-bank kiosk which allows personal and small business customers to withdraw and deposit cash into their own bank account, regardless of whether they’re a customer or not.
For residents, visitors, and businesses in Pickering who continue to use cash and rely on convenient access to their account, the kiosk is expected to become an important lifeline.
