Justine Greening

It’s great news that there will be an additional £1.3 billion for schools funding over the next two years which will help create more good school places in the constituency.

Education Secretary, Justine Greening, announced the increased to the core schools budget today and it will mean the biggest improvement to the school funding system for well over a decade.

I have been campaigning hard for more money for our schools and this announcement shows that the government is listening to the concerns of parents and teachers. It will go towards making sure that every child in the constituency gets the education that they deserve. The additional funding will mean an increase in the basic amount that every pupil gets, will protect funding for those with high needs and will ensure that every school will receive a cash increase through the new formula.

Exact details about the increases will be revealed in the autumn.
