Continuing to push for cross-party collaboration on A64

Alongside fellow MPs Tom Gordon and Sir Alec Shelbrooke MP, we've received a response from Roads Minister Lilian Greenwood regarding the long-awaited A64 dualling project, which we wrote to her about at the end of April. Following the letter highlighting the road’s strategic importance and the strength of local support, the Government has confirmed that the A64 remains in the pipeline for possible future delivery.

Whiel we welcome the recognition of the A64’s critical role we feel frustration over the lack of progress. “While we’ve always known this project wouldn’t happen overnight, the ongoing delay—coupled with no response to our request for a meeting—remains deeply disappointing,” he stated. Despite this setback, we are committed to continuing cross-party efforts to keep the project on the agenda and deliver the infrastructure improvements our region desperately needs.
